Parking and Transportation Details – 2011 Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic

(Moncton) – The Host Committee for 2011 Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic today released details on how to get to each of the events being offered as part of the Touchdown Atlantic celebrations.

“Building on last year’s successful parking and transportation plan, we have made small adjustments and worked hard to ensure that everyone can get to all events safely and efficiently,” says Touchdown Atlantic Host Committee member Mike Mann. “We are very pleased with Codiac Transit’s renewed participation, and with the Park ’n Ride transportation program they are offering on game day to ensure everyone can get to the Stadium on time and back home in record time. The transit plan used for Touchdown Atlantic last year was well executed and this year, a few items have been tweaked; we are in very good shape.”

The committee also wishes to remind all citizens that there is no public parking or drop-off zone on campus. Spectators are encouraged to walk, get dropped off or use public transportation for the September 25 events. Public drop‑off is available on Hillside Drive only.

“We are also inviting not-for profit organizations in the area to consider providing proximity parking for spectators travelling to the Stadium,” adds Mr. Mann.  “If any group is offering parking as a fundraiser we would gladly post their details on our www.touchdownatlantic.ca website.”

In addition to transportation, the committee is reminding people about the do’s and don’ts of tailgating and all the items not allowed within the Stadium.

“People need only bring their great spirit to the Enbridge Gas New Brunswick Family Barbecue and Molson Canadian Tailgate Party, as great food, drink, and music will all be available on location,” adds Mr. Mann. “Tickets for this, the only authorized location to tailgate during the event, are still available and can be purchased at the Moncton Coliseum box office or online at www.tickets.moncton.ca.  Our main goal is to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at the Enbridge Gas New Brunswick Family Barbecue and Molson Canadian Tailgate Party and at the Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic Game inside the Stadium,” says Mr. Mann.
