DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR 2011 SCOTIABANK TOUCHDOWN ATLANTIC
Second edition of festival brings back exciting events for 2011
(Moncton) – During a press conference held at City Hall, the Host Committee for Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic Festival 2011 unveiled details of the many festivities happening throughout the week of the big game on Sunday, September 25th. The Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic game, between ‘home team’ Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Calgary Stampeders is being played at the Stade Moncton Stadium on the Université de Moncton campus. This is the second regular season league game to be played in Moncton.
In addition to the game brought by the CFL, the host committee has coordinated a variety of festival events that will amp up the football frenzy in Moncton. Activities include the ScotiabankPigskin Soirée, Golf Classic, Tailgate Party, Downtown Street Party and much, much more.
“The bar was set quite high with last year’s events, and fans can be sure that they will not be disappointed this year,” says Host Committee Co-Chair Brent Scrimshaw. “We’ve brought back many of the successful elements of last year’s festival and added some new twists as well. For another year, we’re celebrating Canadian football in a Maritime way—Moncton is the place to be the last week of September!”
The week of celebration will officially kick off on Thursday, September 22nd and runs through until the big kick off at 2p.m. on Sunday.
CFL Atlantic Alumni Association Golf Classic:In support of the Moncton Football Association Charities, the Royal Oaks Golf Club will host an opportunity for golfers in the region to play with former CFL greats. For a second consecutive year, this exciting event is a sell-out!
The Economy Glass Future Stars Festival:The Future Stars Festival will feature exciting games from local high school and university football stars starting on September 22 and running through to September 24.The Future Stars Festival schedule is as follows:

Friday, September 23
Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders vs. Moncton High Purple Knights 4-6 p.m.

Saturday, September 24
St. Mary’s Huskies vs. Mount Allison Mounties 1-4 p.m.
Tickets for High School games are $5 for adults and $3 for students and University football match-up tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The Scotiabank Pigskin Soirée:Since 2006, Scotiabank has sponsored the Grey Cup Galas, evenings of food and entertainment, unique to each host city. With Touchdown Atlantic coming back to Moncton for a second year, Scotiabank is once again proud to be a part of Moncton’s Touchdown Atlantic Pigskin Soiree.The ScotiabankPigskin Soiree will take place on Saturday, September 24 at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel. Tables of 10 are available for $2,500. Special tables, that include 10 best-in-stadium Platinum tickets for the ScotiabankTouchdown Atlantic game, are priced at $3,200. Lotto Max Touchdown Downtown Street Festival – presented by the Times and Transcript:A free event for all that runs Friday and Saturday on Moncton’s Main Street with many interactive booths and demonstrations designed for the entire family. Free musical entertainment will run each evening from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on the Lotto Max Mainstage.
Among the featured artists to take the stage will be Canadian Legends Kim Mitchell and Sloan. Additional featured performers during the festival include The Navigators, The Motorleague, Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold, The Divorcees, Pascal Lejeune and Katrine Noel and Jacques Boudreau.
The Enbridge GasNew Brunswick Family BBQ and Molson CanadianTailgate Party: What’s a football game without a tailgate party? Festivities get underway Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Adjacent to the Stadium, this party will feature food and entertainment in traditional tailgate style. Tickets for the Tailgate Party are $5.
